Dalvengyr is a US-PvP World of Warcraft server created on April 10th, 2006. Created as an overflow server, many of its players hail from three larger servers including Alleria, Hellscream and Whisperwind. Dalvengyr was one of the first servers to allow PvE to PvP server transfers to entice players to populate the realm. Only two guilds stood the test of time since its creation in 2006 - stalk and kill, and Fate.

While not at the forefront, Dalvengyr still maintains a healthy and steady guild progression pace. As a medium population server, the alliance to horde ratio remains fairly even and maintains a solid economy. Dalvengyr, although known by its residents for how "sub-par" the players are, has a rather amazing community which continues to hold together the basic framework of the server.

The stability of the server faction-wise has been heavily slumped in the Alliance's favor. Horde is mostly known for the inability for a guild to last long term, as has been proven repeatedly over the past few years. This is where the whole idea of the "Dalvengyr curse" sprouted, where a guild will do amazing and then randomly collapse. Another disambiguation of the Dalvengyr curse is when people randomly transfer only to come back again at a later date.

The Dalvengyr PvP scene is tame, and is typically not categorized as overly competitive or dramatic. However, select few individuals both Alliance and Horde side have excelled in its battlegroup, Stormstrike. Stormstrike was revered as one of the top battlegroups to be in over the past few seasons, and contains a few of the top PvP teams in the world, including the Blizzcon 2009 winners TSG.
